Attractions of CT’s seaport - New London and Things To Do

A little insight into Connecticut’s seaport, New London
It is quite an unknown fact that for many decades after it was built, New London’s seaport was the world’s third busiest seaport. That was back in the 19th century and it was only overtaken by New Bedford andNantucket. Whaling was definitely a money-maker for the neighborhood’s community which also brought much improvements to the city’s architecture (which we all enjoy, explore and learn about till this very day).
Other important landmarks at the heart of New London history would have to be the United States Coast Guard AcademyMitchell College,Connecticut College and The Williams School. The harbor continues to be the home port of U.S. Coast Guard Chinook and tall ship Eagle.
